Is there really a free plan with no time limit?
Yes. The Free plan lets you run SplitLayer with up to 3 partners, 1 active policy, and 50 orders per month, indefinitely. There's no trial period — the Free plan is permanent. You only need to upgrade if you need more partners, higher order volume, or features like reports and simulations.
How does the 14-day free trial work?
When you subscribe to Growth or Scale, you get 14 days free. Shopify billing doesn't charge until the trial period ends. You can cancel at any time during the trial with no charge. The trial is managed directly by Shopify — we don't store or manage your payment information.
Are there any transaction fees or revenue percentages?
No. SplitLayer charges a flat monthly subscription only. We do not take a percentage of your revenue, your payouts, or your transactions. You process $10,000/month or $10M/month — your SplitLayer bill doesn't change.
Can I upgrade or downgrade plans?
Yes. You can upgrade at any time from your SplitLayer billing screen, and the new plan takes effect immediately. Downgrading requires Shopify's standard merchant approval flow for subscription changes — this is a Shopify requirement to protect merchants, not a SplitLayer restriction.
What happens if I exceed my plan's order limit?
Order processing is paused once you hit the monthly cap. No orders are lost — SplitLayer will catch up as soon as you upgrade to a higher plan. We send a notification when you're approaching your limit so you have time to plan.
How is billing managed?
All billing goes through Shopify's recurring application charge system. Your SplitLayer subscription appears on your Shopify invoice alongside your other Shopify charges. You don't need a separate credit card or billing account with SplitLayer.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your ledger data, payout history, and partner records are preserved for 90 days after cancellation. You can request a full export at any time during that window. After 90 days, data is permanently deleted from our systems.
